Doagh Visitor Centre<\/h4>\n

The Doagh Visitor Centre provides a great variety of exhibitions telling the story of Famine, Fear and Eviction. It is also a place where the customs, traditions and history of the people of Inishowen are preserved in a permanent way.<\/p>\n

The scene includes interdenominational Mass Rock, Presbyterian Meeting House and Orange Hall. This attraction is redesigned to become Ireland\u2019s Lapland for the months of November and December.<\/p>\n

Fort Dunree Military Museum<\/h4>\n

Fort Dunree is located about seven miles north of Buncrana on the Inishowen peninsula in Co.Donegal. The site is situated along the shores of Lough Swilly commanding a majestic view of the Lough and it’s shorelines.<\/p>\n

The museum houses a fascinating display of military memorabilia and artefacts as well as an array of large guns from the twentieth century. There are audio-visual displays, scenic walks and a wildlife exhibition.<\/p>\n

Inishowen Maritime Museum<\/h4>\n

Situated in Greencastle harbour the museum displays a wide variety of marine
\nhistory. From the emigration story, to local fishing boats and methods. The brand new state of the art planetarium gives educational and entertaining
\nstar shows. Gulbenkian Award Winner 2000. New Laser Light show featuring contemporary Rock Hits.<\/p>\n

Iosas Centre and Celtic Prayer\/Pilgrim Garden<\/h4>\n

Sponsored by the Columba Community of Prayer and Reconciliation. Iosas Centre, (Island of Saints and Scholars), is a six-acre prayer garden and visitor centre where the pilgrim is invited to reflect on the Irish Saints (5th to 12th Century) and their relevance today.<\/p>\n

Individuals and groups can tour the garden, enjoy its wonderful peace and natural beauty and learn more about our common Christian Heritage.<\/p>\n

There is a replica of the dry-stone cell of St Columba (Colmcille), St Canice’s thatched Oratory and a magnificent bronze Celtic figure of the Risen Christ in the Trinity Circle.<\/p>\n

Crafts on sale at the Visitors Centre include polished bog wood and handmade quilts worked by the residents of the adjoining Whiteoaks Rehabilitation Centre.\u00a0 Meals and snacks can be provided.<\/p>\n

The Cairn Visitor Centre<\/h4>\n

From the Celts to the Vikings, from the Great Famine to the recent past, the story of our heritage is brought to life through story, scenes and lighting. See how the countryside has changed over the centuries. Facilities include: Yesterday in Inishowen – Photographs, stories and information, also available history tour, craft shop, tea room and the Shades of Ireland – Stage show.<\/p>\n
