The Verbal Arts Centre

The Verbal Arts Centre is Ireland’s only centre devoted to literature and the language arts. Integrated within the building are a number of arts and crafts pieces including works by Louis Le Brocquy and John Behan

The Playhouse

Award winning Community Art Centre featuring year round programming of local, national and international Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts, Education and Outreach, and Art Resources. Admission charges will apply to performances held at the venue.

The People’s Gallery – Bogside Artists (Bogside Murals)

The Bogside Artists® are the sole creators of the world famous People’s Gallery® in the Bogside area of Derry in the North of Ireland. The twelve large scale murals are a main visitor attraction in the city.

Millennium Forum

Built just inside the walled area on Newmarket Street is the Millennium Forum, opened in 2001. The first purpose built theatre in the city it has seating for 1000 and has the largest theatre stage in Ireland.

The Alley Arts and Conference Centre

The Alley Arts and Conference Centre is an award winning theatre complex, art gallery, tourist information centre and conference venue, situated in the heart of beautiful Strabane, County Tyrone and located on the gateway to County Donegal.

Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin

Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin is a purpose-built Irish language, cultural and enterprise centre based in the Walled City’s historic Great James Street area. Facilities include a theatre, arts centre, conference centre, café and Irish language book shop.

Portrait of a city, in association with B.T wants to create one of the largest community archives ever compiled for the people of Derry/Londonderry, providing a valuable digital archive of visual heritage and bestowing a rich digital legacy for the future.

Christ Church

Bishop Knox built this Neo-Gothic Church (known as a ‘Free Church’) to the design of John Ferguson in 1830. The church was extended in 1881, however it was destroyed by a fire in the 1990s but refitted in 2000.

St Columb’s Hall

St Columb’s Hall was built in 1886, this architecturally stunning building is situated in the heart of the city next to Derry’s city walls. During 2013 this historic listed building will under go major refurbishment to convert the space into a multi-purpose facility yet retaining the venue’s original character.

Gasyard Heritage Centre

The Gasyard Heritage Centre incorporates a number of exhibitions including the Story of the Prisons exhibition which chronicles the story of the 1980 and 1981 Hunger Strikes and the wider story of the hundreds of political prisoners from Derry who were incarcerated during the political conflict.

The Canopy In The Village Square

An attraction in its own right for both visitors and locals, The Canopy in the Village Square, situate in The Craft Village, is a multipurpose, flexible outdoor performance space, creating a new cultural venue in the heart of the city.

Waterside Theatre

Housed within a beautifully converted old factory, the theatre programmes a range of quality arts and entertainment throughout the year such as drama, dance, comedy, live music and children’s theatre.

McKinney Academy Of Irish Dance

Why not entertain your visitors/guests to an informal ceili evening of music, song or dance? The Academy takes bookings for performances at weddings, parties, group functions etc. Also Irish dancing classes for competition or pleasure.

Gordon Gallery

The Gordon Gallery has been associated with visual art in Derry since c1860 and exhibits work of contemporary, mostly Irish artists with national and international reputations.

Echo Echo Dance

Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company has established itself as Northern Ireland’s leading dance company and a key influence in the development of dance and dance theatre in Ireland.

Void Art Centre is an artist led space consisting of two large galleries, six artist studios, an education area, a conference room and cafe. Void’s remit is to exhibit the work of contemporary International and Irish established artists.

Cafe del Mondo

Cafe del Mondo is located in the 19th century square of Derry’s charming Craft Village in between lower Shipquay Street and Magazine Street.

City Hotel Visual Arts Competition

City Hotel have partnered with The Void Gallery, School Employer Connections and Culture Company 2013 to create a unique and exciting opportunity for A Level Art Students within the Derry City Council area. All art works will be displayed at a special exhibition open to the public and free of charge at The Void Gallery, Patrick Street on 29th and 30th June 2012. Judging will take place on Friday, 29th June at 2pm. All post primary schools within the Derry City Council area have been invited to select two pieces of art to represent their school in the competition.

Cascade Gallery

Opened in September 2009, Cascade Gallery based within the Waterside Theatre is a commercial gallery for artists with over 32 metres of hanging space.

Liz Bolloten Watercolour Artist

Liz is a watercolour artist based between Ireland and Wales. She produces original works of art, limited edition prints and postcards.
