The Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup Press Launch was held on Monday evening, with James Mc Clean as our Special Guest. The Draw was placed on site at 9pm that evening.
I am expecting that all fixtures will appear on Foyle Cup website over the next 24 hours. I want to advise you that these venues may be subject to minor changes where necessary before the event but will largely remain the same.
Prior to the event and post event, we are required by one of our funders, THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE, to carry out a short survey. We did this last year and there were significant changes in attitudes prior to / after the event.
We had almost 100% co-operation last year and would ask for same level of co-operation this year, please.
We are committed to providing a fun, safe and inclusive event for everyone involved in our annual tournament. We would like to capture various opinions and experiences of the teams competing in the 2017 event. When completing this pre event survey we suggest the coach lead a discussion to capture the views of the team. LINK BELOW FOR SHARING WITH ALL OTHER TEAM MANAGERS.
Whilst the Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup is a huge event in itself, we have taken on board a further initiative and in conjunction with the Irish Football Association intend to hold short 10 minute discussions with under 12/13 team players and coaches prior to games. We would ask you to make members of Irish Football Staff welcome in the changing rooms for we have asked them to focus very much on the focus of Coach / Player Behaviour and Respect.
Respect Campaign
‘The Irish Football Association in partnership with the Foyle Cup will deliver a Football For All Campaign to all teams participating in this year’s U12 & U13 Boys tournaments. All teams and coaches will receive a pre-match team talk promoting respect and football for all. The Football for all Team will also promote this message with free literature for coaches, parents and fans attending matches. Every year the Foyle Cup creates a fun, safe and inclusive environment for young people, families and the community to enjoy football and this campaign will ensure the Football for All message reaches beyond the tournament.’ Sarah Keys
There will also be morning workshops on offer and teams are required to contact Sarah directly to organise these workshops, at a time suitable to your team. These proved most enjoyable for all who had pleasure of taking part in them last year.
Open Workshops
During the week long Foyle Cup tournament 2017, the Irish Football Association will offer interactive ‘Football for All’ workshops to teams registered to play in the tournament.
As we are expecting a high demand for the ‘Football for All’ workshops, we are now taking bookings from teams who will be participating in the Foyle Cup 2017. These workshops will operate on a first come first serve basis.
Workshops will be held at the Foyle Arena, where the Foyle Cup Office will be based throughout the tournament.
TO REGISTER your team for one of these workshops, please contact Irish Football Association, Education & Health Officer Sarah Keys – sarah.keys@irishfa.com
